Proposal for playground Improvements

The playground in Great Corby has started to look a bit tired and worn out, so we are proposing plans to improve it and address key safety issues that were raised by an inspection carried out by Cumberland Council in January 2023.
Some of the issues and ideas are outlined below.

Replace Back Gate:

The back gate is very old and sticky. It often slams back into children’s faces when they try and open it and can be prone to getting fingers trapped.

Replace Matting:

Most of the matting in the playground is very old and gets very slippery in winter. There is also a big gap between the roundabout and the matting, which can trap feet.

Replace Springer:

It is old and in not great shape. Could do with replacing.

Install new Items:

It has been a long time since any new playground equipment was added to bring the playground up to the same standard as other playgrounds in the parish.
